Opted in? Ok, here we go…
I had a major epiphany about building a business just in the last couple of weeks…
Anything that is meant to help you on your journey to a successful business… coaching, books, group chats, social media posts, newsletters… should not add to the stress and work load of actually building your business.
When you join a program that is meant to help you, it should feel joyful and generative to participate, it shouldn’t feel like a chore. Community in particular, should add to what you’re already doing, not distract.
It was with that vibe in mind that we’ve redesigned each element of Build a Community Business.
Our goals are to:
This version of BACB meets you where you are and is there when you need it.
Here’s how we’ve designed BACB to be that for you…
You get access to a library of resources, which is not just a list of old videos you’ll never watch. Each piece of content speaks directly to a problem you might be thinking about. And it walks you through the exact playbook on how to address it.
Playbooks address problems like:
We have a library of dozens of playbooks like the above, with more added each month. They include worksheets for you to plan with, detailed templates for you to customize, and step-by-step implementation instructions. They are little shortcuts to building a business that works. For the full list of playbooks, click here and we’ll send you more info.
Our community is tight-knit, which means you always get individual support and coaching. You get your questions (and questions your didn’t know you had) addressed by me and our growing collective of experienced community builders.
When you join us live at events, you’ll leave with a new thing to implement immediately, a new idea to be inspired by, and/or a new potential friend.
Examples of some specific things you can get during our events and in our community platform:
Our monthly expert chats are so special.
Instead of a conversation you can listen to on anyone’s podcast, we’ve built a unique experience where you learn real skills, and get inspired by those who are a few steps ahead. Our expert conversations come with a collaborative prep document you can contribute to, as well as time for you to ask your questions and get coaching from our experts live.
Our goal is that you leave each of these sessions changed in some way and with a new clear idea to implement in your own business.
Our library includes past talks from Peter Block, Jay Clouse, Lena West, Gesche Haas and more.
And this season, we have 3 incredible humans joining us live…
Allison Esposito Medina, who built and ran Tech Ladies, a 7-figure membership community that was acquired in 2022. And who has just launched a new community, Juniper Pets. We’ll talk to Allison about iterating on business models, building a community that grows way beyond you, and setting ambitious goals for your business.
Visakan Veerasamy, is a writer and internet expert. His work is for friendly ambitious nerds who want to better express themselves, meet others, and make the world nerdier and more connected. Our conversation with Visa will be about ambition, authentic internet marketing, why you shouldn’t be perfect, and the power of being a deviant.
Angus Parker is the General Manager for Ali Abdaal and the Part-Time YouTuber Academy. Under his leadership, they’ve been able to grow several successful courses and communities and grow the business to $5 million in annual revenue. We’ll be talking about building a creator-led business that doesn’t rely on the creator, building high-ticket programs that scale, and building a mission-driven team.
Nothing but illustrious guests. I can’t believe we get to have these conversations.
If you’ve made it this far, I hope that you’re considering applying to join us this season!
We do this work because we believe supporting ambitious community builders is the key to making the world more connected and whole.
In a world that is trying to pull you in many directions, we hope to be a friendly nook for you to learn, connect, and be inspired by others.

For entrepreneurs who value integrity and credibility when it comes to selling stuff online, Black Friday/Cyber Monday and the general over-consumerism of the end of the year can be a little hard to navigate. On the one hand, many of our potential members are ready to plan their upcoming year and often have budget to spend. On the other, it’s a time when a lot of us buy stuff we don’t need and never use. So how do we navigate this time and make decisions that both set the business up success...
Leadership, to me, is about: Embracing your own imperfections and using them as a way to connect. Integrity as a responsibility. Inspiring love, not fear. Taking every chance to scale leadership by spreading power to others. A deep knowing that it’s not about you. This election result makes it clear that many people have a very different idea of what leadership looks and feels like. I deeply believe that the best way to counter a vision you don’t agree with is not to spend time arguing with...
